That's right citizens of Quinn's Haven your favorite nosey neighbor is back in town! I blended in seamlessly among the partiers on Saturday, March 18th for the second annual St. Patty's Day Block Party.
I stood there flabbergasted taking in the bustle of it all. The streets of Quinn's Haven were painted green and gold in Irish pride. Plenty of food and of course green beer! A towering Farris wheel reaching to the clouds giving a clear view of the entire town, Air balloons and carnival rides just to name a few. I took a walk through the newly renovated town making sure to stop into the new ice cream parlor, Scoop There It Iz, before watching the children play in the new retro arcade. I found it to be a bit sparce but the children didn't seem to notice or care.
I watched in amusement as local resident, GabzMcG aimed carefully at the target on the dunk booth. Arm cocked back, she let the ball fly and... SPLASH! Down goes our beloved Mayor Quinn into the shocking cold water of the dunk tank. The crowd cheered as Mayor Quinn climbed out laughing in good nature.
"It's all in good fun! Who knew Gabz had a good throwing arm!"
The party energy almost tripled as DJ Jozef took to the DJ booth. He quickly grabbed the attention of all nearby fair goers. Playing everything from hip hop to rock the music had the whole
town dancing.

Rumor has it, that Mayor Quinn found this DJ on the fly ! Not bad at all for an untested DJ... Well done Mayor.
Next up was a town favorite, DJ Lion Owo! He continued to feed the crowd music to move to. This nosey neighbor was impressed with his ability to keep the party going even though his style was completely different from DJ Jozef. Mayor Quinn, if you read this.. you would be wise to bring them back!
Before we knew it DJ Lion ended his set and Event Manager Gabz and Executive Secretary Foxy were herding the masses to Deja Brew for the live music performers.
I always love walking into Deja Brew. Something about the robust smell of fresh ground coffee and the warm air from the steam that makes me feel at home, but that night Deja Brew was magical. Savannah, our local barista handed me my first coffee of the night as I watched the sun begin to set on the horizon. The Quinn's Haven signature lighthouse standing as a beacon while Kris Composure and his band took the stage. For the next hour I watched as the townies lifted their glasses and cheered. The green beers and Irish coffees were raised to the sky while we danced the night away to an energetic performance.

We were all taken by surprise when Mayor Quinn announced there would be a firework show on the last song of each live performer. My eyes went to the sky for the second time that night as a rainbow of colors exploded. I peeked some couples sharing a romantic moment, a son grabbing onto his mom's hand excitedly pulling her closer to the show, even Savannah, our hard at work barista was seen sneaking out from behind the counter to enjoy the spectacle.
The vibe of the night shifted once more as Wytchwhisper took the stage. Her voice was melodic and soothing as she began to sing. Couples drew closer, swaying to the music whispering sweet nothings in each others ears. The Quinn sisters visibly relaxed as they laughed and toasted each other to another successful event. Overlooking the remaining crowd dancing, their happiness was infectious as the fireworks began to boom once again lighting up the night sky.

Wytchwhisper drew her set to a gentle close. Her soft voice floating on the sea breeze and into the night.
I watched as people laughed and said their good byes. Raising one last toast for the road before meandering home.
I must say I am very impressed with this years St. Patrick's Day festivities.... at least nothing was on fire by the end.
